About

Since 1918, The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. has been creating and enhancing opportunities for independence and self-sufficiency of people who are blind, DeafBlind, and blind with other disabilities.

We currently employ over 460 individuals, approximately 230 of whom are blind, DeafBlind, or blind with other disabilities. In addition to offering meaningful employment opportunities, the Lighthouse provides a wide variety of training programs and support services such as computer and assistive technology training, orientation and mobility training, braille literacy classes, and American Sign Language interpreting.

We are a successful manufacturing organization that is committed to making jobs accessible to individuals with a visual disability. Our manufacturing operations center on making quality products for the federal government and aerospace companies like The Boeing Company.

Our service businesses provide professional work for the federal government and private companies including Contact Management Close-Out and Contact Center services.

We also have outreach and educational programs for the community at large, including our nationally acclaimed DeafBlind Retreat and Community Classes as well as a local school program to educate elementary school students about blindness and DeafBlindness.

Your generous charitable support through Redefining Vision makes it possible for The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. to create these positions and to support the individuals we employ.
